While helping our patients with pain relief is a key priority at the Canadian Wellness Centre, we also focus on improving and maintaining mobility. Increasingly sedentary lifestyles and aging are two major causes of increased injuries by decreasing your mobility and flexibility. Here at CWC, we take pride in guiding our patients to take an active role in their own health. Our dedicated healthcare providers understand the importance of using a combination of both natural and conventional approaches to helping you overcome your health concerns. From aligning your spine and joints through chiropractic adjustments to prescribing different physical therapy techniques to relieve pain and improve mobility, offering soft tissue massage therapy, and providing comprehensive health check-ups from our general practitioner, we pay close attention to your unique needs to help you achieve your optimal health and reach your highest potential.

Our Services

Chiropractic Care

Whether you are a newborn, pregnant, a young adult, or a senior, chiropractic care is for you. Chiropractic is a health care profession concerned with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disorders of the spine, nervous system, and joints of the extremities. Your spine provides the stability and mobility of your body and the protection of your nervous system, which controls and regulates every cell of your body. When your spine is out of alignment from common stresses of daily living, your nervous system is compromised, which ultimately impacts your overall health and wellness; including but not limited to neck pain, low back pain, disc issues, shoulder pain and restrictions, stiffness, headaches and migraines, pregnancy-related issues, digestive concerns and insomnia.

Various stresses that can affect our nervous system are categorized as physical, chemical and emotional. Examples of physical stress include accidents, improper posture, excessive use of the phone, lack of exercise and a sedentary lifestyle. Chemical stresses build up from one’s diet, smoking, lack of water, excessive caffeine or lack of various nutrients. Emotional stresses are the most common, have the strongest effect on the nervous system, and is a cause of many health issues, yet it is the most commonly ignored.

After a very comprehensive examination, including a computerized spinal scan, very gentle and precise hands-on treatments are used to align the spine. This reduces the pressure on the nervous system, improves joint mobility, and reduces muscle spasms and pain. Ultimately, with each adjustment or treatment of the spine, your nervous system heals, awakening your inner natural healing potential. Your body starts to function at its optimal level, eventually pain-free!

Neuro-Spinal Nerve Scan

Dr. Farah Samji has joined chiropractic doctors across the world in upgrading their level of care through the Insight Subluxation Station TM. This technology is a non-invasive neuro-spinal screening and evaluation system originally designed to measure changes in the spinal muscles of astronauts. The Insight TM Technology used at the CWC has been exclusively verified by the NASA Space Foundation as a Certified Space Technology.

Dr. Farah uses the Insight TM technology to measure misalignments of the spine and identify the causes of impaired nerve function. Spinal misalignments disrupt the muscle’s regular nerve function by causing an abnormal amount of electrical flow to connected tissues. Both acute and chronic misalignments can lead to other health problems, pain, and discomfort in your everyday life. The Insight Subluxation Station TM measures hidden tension in the spinal cord and charts the nerve’s electrical flow using images to show the spine and the root cause of the ailment. This technology helps chiropractors better locate where they should adjust their patients, allowing for improved accuracy in your diagnosis, treatment, and outcomes.

Your first visit with Dr. Farah will include use of the neuro-spinal nerve scan to precisely determine the misalignments in your spine and ensure you receive the most effective care possible. As your treatment plan progresses, reassessments with this scan will be provided to see your improvements and ensure continued healing.

This is an example of a patient’s pre- and post- scans from her first appointment and after 12 treatments. The patient came in with complaints of headaches, tingling and numbness throughout her fingers, lack of energy and fatigue, restlessness, and both neck and lower back pain. As the misalignments were corrected, the symptoms improved as well. The longer and darker coloured bars indicate extreme muscle irritation from misalignments of the spine.

Physiotherapy

The sooner physiotherapy begins, the quicker the recovery. Physiotherapy helps at any age to relieve your symptoms and resolve your injury as quickly as possible. Whether it be sports injuries, pre and post joint surgery, or every day physical problems such as shoulder or back injuries, our physiotherapists can help. We use modalities to reduce pain, hands-on joint mobilizations to increase movement, and stretching and strengthening exercises to help restore normal movement in the affected areas. Most importantly, our physiotherapists focus on creating individualized exercise sessions to enhance your mobility and flexibility and help minimize the likelihood of re-injury. Continuous monitoring and exercise progressions will allow you to achieve above and beyond what you ever thought capable.

Orthotics

Are you caring for your health from the ground up? Do your feet provide the foundational support for your body? Do you suffer from foot, heel, bunions, knee, hip or low back pain? Have you injured joints or muscles in your legs and feet? Have you ever had surgery on your feet, knees, or hips? Do you have arthritis in your feet, knees or hips?

If you answered yes to any of the above questions you will benefit from a comprehensive assessment that includes a computerized gait (walking) analysis. Based on your results, custom orthotic insoles will be recommended to correct your specific foot imbalances, which help reduce stress and strain on your body. The Canadian Wellness Centre is the exclusive provider in Dubai of these Candian-produced custom orthotic insoles from The Orthotic Group ©

What are Orthotics?

Orthotics are insoles worn in your shoes to provide correction to your feet and help them function at their best. Our feet are comprised of 52 bones, 66 joints, 214 ligaments and 38 tendons and muscles that all work together as a complex system. The slightest imbalance in your feet can cause poor foot function and misalignments that can lead to varying levels of pain throughout the body, including foot, hip, knee, and back pain. Left untreated, chronic foot misalignments can prevent you from living at your optimum.

Who are they for?

Orthotics are worn by people who are simply looking for comfort and support in their everyday lives, as well as by athletes from recreational to professional levels. Orthotics are often prescribed to help with hammertoes, metatarsal issues, heel spurs, bunions, diabetic ulcerations and more. They also help minimize shin splints, ligament and joint strains, and back pain.

Low Level Laser Therapy

Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) also known as photobiomodulation (PBM Therapy) is now offered at the Canadian Wellness Centre. This modality is used to reduce inflammation and swelling throughout the body, improve wound and soft tissue healing, provide relief from both acute and chronic pain, accelerate tissue repair (ex: muscles, tendons, etc.), and release trigger points. LLLT is a painless, effective, and safe alternative to anti-inflammatory drugs. LLLT works by applying a red and near-infrared light over the injured area. Your tissue cells absorb the light to stimulate the mitochondria to produce more ATP (energy) and reduce levels of oxidative stress. This process ultimately helps facilitate natural healing and leads to improved or eliminated symptoms, including pain.

LLLT is not used as a replacement to other forms of injury treatment, but it can be used alongside chiropractic, physiotherapy, massage, supportive footwear, and stretching and strengthening exercises to minimize your healing time and increase your mobility and comfort.

What Our Patients Say About Us

Dr. Farah is amazing. I didn’t know much about chiropractic before I was introduced to her, and now I’m a regular. She’s very good at what she does and brings lots of positive and uplifting energy to the adjustment sessions, which is part of the healing for me. She’s open, honest, and very professional. I went to her with…

N.M.H. Dubai, UAE

I initially came to Dr. Farah with tingling in my left little finger, headaches and difficulty sleeping. Her kindness, professionalism and non-judgemental approach made me feel right at ease as she took a detailed health history and scans to assess my case. The tests were very thorough and after my first treatment, I felt that I was on the way to recovery. After 14 treatments and some physiotherapy sessions, the new tests confirmed what I felt. My condition had vastly improved and I barely notice the tingling in my left little finger. My sleep has improved and even my energy levels are up. I highly recommend Dr Farah and the Canadian Wellness Centre for their holistic approach to chiropractic care and long term relief.

M. I. Dubai, UAE

Backache and scoliosis is never a beautiful thing to live with, especially if you have been misdiagnosed by several doctors throughout a period of 3 years. I am a daughter, a sister, a friend, and a dentist, whose backache has prevented me from being myself and affected my lifestyle in a negative way. I still remember…

Dr. E. A. Dubai, UAE

Dr. Farah  Samji is an experienced person who has known how to do that admirably and professionally. She also has always been aware of the importance of asking me regularly about my back pain condition, explaining to me her approach of treatment and informing me about the improvement level of my back, which lessened my tension level and increased my belief in the treatment effectiveness.
